Our corporate office is conveniently located between Baltimore and Washington, DC., but we happily serve clients throughout the United States and around the world. While we are most known for our industry-leading FIREARMS MANAGER Pro (FMPro) software, the story of our brand began long before that.

The History of HY-TEK, Ltd.
You can’t talk about HY-TEK without mentioning our Founder, Bob Mroz. He graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a double-degree in Electrical & Electronics engineering and Computer Science. He took this technical and computer knowledge into the world of law enforcement, working in field enforcement at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for 30 years.
During those 30 years, he rose in the ranks from Field Agent to Assistant Branch Chief of the FCC's National Inspections Program, then to Special Agent in Charge of the Baltimore District Office, and finally, to Director of the FCC's Advanced Technologies Group, before retiring in 1997.
For a short time, his attention was drawn to the Olympics, where he was brought into the International Olympic Committee for the United States where he developed software to collect and organize data on the best swimmers in the world to improve performance and to help the U.S. Team develop improved swimming techniques.
Bob then used his technical knowledge and skills to develop software that would track weapons serial numbers instead of swimming times. His first Customer was the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Office in Baltimore. Soon, FIREARMS MANAGER Pro was BORN and has been used to assist law enforcement and military organizations nationally and around the world.
Today, after many years of development, Bob’s goal of helping law enforcement better manage their weapons training programs to more effectively "protect & serve" people around the world is a reality through the implementation of his FIREARMS MANAGER Pro (FMPro) software.
